And when the workshop is over, the learning continues: Over the span of a year, you’ll bring your project to life on your campus with input and guidance from coaches and fellow participants.
Diverse tracks within the National Workshop schema help you decide where to get started. Will it be innovation and creating value with the Teaching and Learning track? How about inspiring students through Discovery and Research? Are you interested in expanding your impact with Leadership and Integration? These possibilities and more await!
Your contributions and success through a National Workshop can go even further.
In 2020, twenty-nine faculty members from twenty-four institutions of higher education across the U.S. were named the Engineering Unleashed 2020 Fellows. This new award recognizes the contributions of faculty toward engineering education, and specifically entrepreneurial engineering.
These faculty members had participated in National Workshops where they were dedicated to establishing entrepreneurially minded learning as central to the development of engineering graduates, preparing them to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.
As part of their workshops, participants identified potential projects and honed the ideas with their coaches for up to one year. The coaches nominated applicants for the fellowship and an independent review committee, including the KEEN Faculty Advisory Council and the Kern Family Foundation, named the twenty-nine recipients for 2020.
The Fellowship award was provided to the awardee’s home institutions on behalf of the excellent efforts in engineering education by their faculty. In total, the colleges received $290,000 in support to recognize the excellent efforts in engineering education by
their faculty.
